If you have heat waves like we had in France for 2 or 3 weeks in 2003, we had 20000 dead in France and 70000 in Europe, despite the average temperature in 2003 was probably in the average of the increasing trend.

Another important point is the influence on the soil for agriculture, once the soil is dead due to droughts for example, it is nearly impossible to go back to a situation where you can grow cereals.
Once a cake is "burned" you cannot go back, take the ingredients and bake a new cake.
Except of huge investments, tomatos will never again grow "naturally" in the sands of the Sahara.
South of Spain, for example, is already suffering from severe water shortage.

It is difficult to imagine / to believe that the coming restricted living conditions might wipe out ... so many lives.

Some days I just cannot believe it could happen, even if I know the figures.
When and how will it happen , I mean on a massive scale, so that even the "politicians" must admit it ?

I am living in the center of France (wild mountains in Auvergne area), the birds are singing, I am gardening, it is raining enough (I save the water from the roof), fruits and vegetables are growing
fine ...
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
