But the Peace Prize certainly makes a good trophy. Will I also get a trophy, for allowing catastrophic climate change to occur? Who was at the wheel when the Earcthic crashed its nosecone?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3046701423623795423.post-17244778527181193962012-05-02T05:15:37.262-07:002012-05-02T05:15:37.262-07:00While it may have been personally painful for Bob ...While it may have been personally painful for Bob Watson to lose the contest for IPCC chair, I remain rather delighted of their choice in Dr. Rajendra Pachauri which did not work very well for those who wanted to suppress issues.

Dr. Pachauri may be disliked in the West as his Asian culture appears eccentric in Europe and America, but he is very much seen as Asia's own man on the driver's seat at IPCC and much appreciated in Africa and South America. Bob Watson's legacy is of being British. There are many Finns who all think the are the world's best drivers and should be Formula 1 race drivers, but if Bernie Ecclestone were to see his racetrack occupied by ten Finns, the rest of world would lose ownership and interest in that race. It is this effect of spread ownership which the plotters of IPCC's demise failed to foresee in installation of Dr. Rajendra Pachauri and I am quite deligted of that despite the West feeling that Watson on the driver's seat had been better. IPCC's duty is to bring everybody along to the goals and not create a marathon race with large drop outs along the race track.

It also bears to be remembered that India has produced some of the world's great geniuses like Prof. Satyendra Nath Bose and shows that the resource-scarcity of the Third World Nations does not mean that the less financially endowed nations of the world have no contributions to make in advancement of our understanding of climate. Hence, Dr. Rajendra Pachauria and IPCC have become more un-silenceable than had Dr. Watson been installed as its head.Veli Albert Kallio FRGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15750610783217264963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3046701423623795423.post-88612561582214875892012-04-29T21:14:30.788-07:002012-04-29T21:14:30.788-07:00It is impressive. Evidence abound of melt and feedbacks, yet Slingo nonchalantly dooms the youth to a world of abrupt climate warming without positing any means by which sea-ice and methane release will not occur. It appears her attitude is "It won't happen because I said so, but I cannot posit the mechanisms by why it won't happen, not can I explain why the observed phenomena is occurring." There has been plenty of evidence that around the world but especially in America, that lead scientists of organizations are being suppressed or sanitized in favour of non-alarmists that will not affect the global economy. Hansen himself says top level scientists (including himself) are not allowed to contradict the President's position. Even IPCC's Bob Watson was sanitized by Exxon in favour of the moderate Rajendra Pachauri. Up here in Victoria Andrew Weaver has been complaining of suppression, backed up by David Suzuki. In the book Harperland, it is documented how Stephan Harper has suppressed his scientists and cut key funding of monitoring. Criminals.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
